The following religious endorsing bodies have designated the specific persons listed as the contact for religious body endorsement for AAPC members/candidates affiliated with these religious endorsing bodies. For those marked with asterisks (**), the process of obtaining the endorsement may take an extended period of time and may require meeting with a committee. It is therefore recommended that requests for endorsement be made well in advance of the due date for AAPC applications.

Diplomate, Fellow, Member (Certified), and Certified Pastoral Counselor: must have specialized pastoral care ecclesiastical endorsement. This will include an appearance before a Lutheran Regional Consultation Committee and include the district president's acknowledgement of his/her active roster status. Moving from one certified category to another does not require an additional consultation committee appearance, but is available to the AAPC member for their personal consultation.

Pastoral Counselor-in-Training: a Lutheran Regional Consultation Committee appearance is not mandatory. The applicant may request a consultation for his/her own benefit.

ROMAN CATHOLIC
Diocesan Priests: All candidates must obtain endorsement from their local ordinary.
Members of Religious Orders: All candidates must obtain endorsement from their Major Superior.

JEWISH
Please contact the appropriate official of one’s Board or other relevant body.

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (USA)
Stated clerk in applicant’s presbytery. Presbytery determines through action of its Committee on Ministry whether persons within its jurisdiction are in good standing.
