The Fall meeting at Loyola Pastoral Counseling was a wonderful, energizing renewal of our regional relationships.  We were honored to have a full house of AAPC members, several of our second generation mentors, and a guess speakers who enriched our understanding of traumatic suffering and recovery.  We particularly appreciated the students who came, including those from Loyola, Neumann, and VIP-Care. A new slate of officers were elected.  We congratulated Steven Flowers, Ted Dougherty, and Patrick DiVertri as Certified Pastoral Counselors, as well as Jill Snodgrass and John Michalczyk as our newest Fellows.  Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland was recognized for its recent institutional accreditation. A moment of silence was given in remembrance of our colleagues from the region who have recently died, including Bob Davenport and Bob Grizzard. The next annual Fall meeting of the Atlantic Region is scheduled for November 2 & 3 with a topic of "Pastoral Counseling in the Age of the Internet: Safe Use, Ethical Implications, and Clinical Practice.” [Loyola is the likely location].
